Are you ready for smart cities?

The total transparency can be a threat for some and an opportunity for others, the connected society only has advantages, we need to develop faster if we are to be a world leader.

Imagine a future where political pledges are seamlessly fulfilled, devoid of any obstacles or uncertainties. Picture a society where interconnected cities seamlessly exchange data, mitigating traffic emissions, optimizing transportation systems, and efficiently allocating vital resources like electricity and water. Imagine a world with enhanced security measures, a robust economy, accessible healthcare, sustainable food production, top-tier education, punctual public transportation, minimized waste, streamlined healthcare services, eradicated corruption, upgraded infrastructure, universal internet access, and an overall elevated standard of living. This is the future we strive to create—a world of unparalleled technological innovation, where every aspect of society functions harmoniously for the betterment of humanity.

I firmly believe that the true potential of blockchain lies in its ability to interconnect various technologies, unlocking unprecedented value in the process. By integrating blockchain frameworks across multiple sectors such as energy consumption, transportation, emergency services, education, healthcare, and waste management, we can pave the way for the emergence of “smart cities” capable of automating essential urban services. However, my vision extends beyond this. I aim to create a seamless network encompassing food retailers, transportation hubs, hospitality establishments, retail outlets, financial institutions, airlines, manufacturing facilities, import-export enterprises, and governmental agencies. Through this interconnected ecosystem, individuals will be incentivized to make environmentally conscious decisions, earning rewards in diverse and practical currencies. This is the blueprint for a truly smart society, where innovation drives sustainability and efficiency at every turn.

An Ordinary Day In Blockchain City

Envision a city where every residential, commercial, and governmental space is seamlessly integrated into a digital ledger—a comprehensive repository containing vital information about each property. From ownership details and mortgage balances to transactional histories encompassing property usage and tax assessments, this ledger serves as a unified hub of property-related data. Empowered by this digital infrastructure, city authorities gain unprecedented access to streamline service coordination and enhance administrative processes. Meanwhile, property owners wield a trusted platform to facilitate transactions, whether it’s renting out a room, engaging contractors for landscaping services, or monetizing solar energy contributions to the grid. This convergence of technology and real estate redefines urban living, offering unparalleled efficiency and transparency to all stakeholders.

For example, sensors would immediately know of a problem and alert the city administration’s AI departments to dispatch the appropriate technician as a response. The AI can then help the technician assess the extent of the repair through Artificial Reality glasses, send templates of needed parts to the 3D printer in the technician’s truck, pay the person who designs and manufactures the part through a smart contract, and guide the repair through the AR glasses before informing the city administration and the property owner when the repair is complete.

Now imagine extending that to the wider infrastructure of the city. Where travelers jump into self-driving electric taxis at central stations or airports and ask it to drive you to a meeting in the city center. From the data from the traffic sensors, it appears that there is a traffic jam on the highway and the car therefore automatically chooses an alternative route that ends closest to your destination where an outlet for electric cars is available. When parked, the car automatically connects to an outlet that bills the taxi company in real time for the electricity needed to recharge the car battery. When the traveler connects to the city’s public wifi, he/she immediately receives a push message with a discount at the nearby cafe via a social media account.

At the same time, city staff can monitor the safe operation of the taxi and ensure that the taxi company bills correctly for the trip, check the traffic status or push notifications to all affected drivers, ensure that parking is available, confirm the traveler’s agreement for city wi-fi, inform cafe owners about the effectiveness of today’s coupon or confirm that the building’s elevators are operating according to the latest safety codes. Every interaction or transaction is transparent, verifiable and impossible to fake or change – and use the collected data for machine learning to analyze for future improvements and efficiency.

Thanks to blockchain, there are possibilities to create smart networks for almost anything and these will change the way we do business or make crucial decisions in the future.
